CREMOPAR


CREMOPAR was instituted by resolution of Regional Council in 2000 and it is regulated by an agreement between the Department of Agriculture of the Campania Region and the Unit of Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production - University of Naples Federico II.

The Center has:

Protozoology, helminthology, entomology, immunology and molecular biology laboratories, equipped with modern instruments.

Studies and offices for data processing, mapping and modelling, administration and management.

Guest quarters for CREMOPAR staff (4 beds), students (20 beds) and Italian and foreign researchers (4 beds).

Congress center for conferences, workshops, symposia and educational and informational events, organized by CREMOPAR, Universities and other entities.

Sector Room for diagnostic, teaching and training courses for technicians and operators in the sector, organized by CREMOPAR, Universities and other entities.

Territorial Relations Office for veterinarians, technicians, breeders and operators in the livestock sector.

The diagnostic activity, performed at CREMOPAR by highly specialized personnel, using traditional and innovative methods, is the necessary prerequisite for correctly facing the complex problem of parasites that negatively affect animal health, welfare and livestock production.

CREMOPAR has been designated by the World Health Organization (WHO) "Collaborative center for the diagnosis of helminths and intestinal protozoa" (WHO CC ITA-116) for the scientific supervision of epidemiological dynamics, diagnosis and control of the Soil-Transmitted Helminths in tropical and sub-tropical areas.
